The Valmet K17585 V3.0 is a local display controller designed for the SP Series blade-type pulp concentration measurement system. It features firmware version V3.0 and is compatible with the full range of shear-type concentration probes. It is powered by 24 VDC industrial power and has an IP65 protection rating, making it waterproof and dustproof and suitable for the high-humidity, dusty conditions of pulp mills. Equipped with an LCD digital display and digital navigation keys, it allows for local concentration calibration, storage of eight pulp recipes, and temperature compensation parameter settings, while displaying pulp concentration, shear force, medium temperature, and error codes in real time. Signal ports include an M12 sensor input and a 4–20 mA analog output, and the unit is compatible with HART bus communication, enabling integration with the plant’s DCS control system. Four waterproof cable glands at the base ensure sealed cable routing. The housing is made of anti-aging engineering plastic and features a transparent protective flip cover to safeguard the control panel. The V3.0 firmware optimizes signal interference resistance, enhances measurement stability for both high- and low-concentration slurries, and supports online self-diagnosis of faults. With no mechanical wear parts, the device requires no routine maintenance over the long term and is suitable for monitoring pulp concentrations across the full range of 1.5%–16%.
